Google asks you to choose between Google, Ask and Yahoo! for a search engine in the new Chrome Canary Builds. Why does Bing not get an option? Bing is bigger than Ask in terms of popularity and powers Yahoo! anyway. It’s petty not putting Bing.

Eric Pickles has announced the end of the regional Government farce network.  Never heard of it?  Apparently it does lots of work like making efficiencies and being flexible (according to their website).  Take note of what they state on their About page:

manage the transformation needed to devolve power from Whitehall to local authorities and their communities

Over the last 13 years we’ve seen centralisation, so clearly they’ve failed here.

use our locally based flexible resource to address emerging Government priorities in an integrated way

I don’t even know what this means.  If someone can translate this to a phrase with meaning, I would be grateful.

They apparently also coordinate our domestic emergency response however I’m sure we can cope with emergencies (floods, foot and mouth) using another existing level of Government.

If they do something else, I might change my opinion but even their website can’t even convince me that Pickles is making a wrong move.  

Do you want the United Kingdom to adopt the ‘alternative vote’ system instead of the current ‘first past the post’ system for electing Members of Parliament to the House of Commons?

Was that the dullest PMQs ever conducted? If not, it certainly is in the running.

Straw was exceptionally dull and Clegg gave poor jokes.  Bercow can’t count and whines about interruptions.  He’s doing all the interrupting.

He refuses to get off his high horse and is adamant the public don’t like interesting or boisterous confrontations.  Perhaps he actually needs to find some evidence for this, to me it seems the most popular parliamentary event.
